BLITZED: LIVERPOOL LIVES - PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITION

80 years on, Museum of Liverpool captures the devastation and resilience of local people during the Blitz in rare photographs. Displaying up to 60 photographs taken by Liverpool City Police from 1940 – 1941, a free new photography exhibition at the Museum of Liverpool reveals the devastation the Blitz brought to the lives and city of Liverpool. SOUVENIR: 40 YEARS OF OMD

October 11 sees the opening of a brand new exhibition at the British Music Experience; Souvenir: 40 Years of OMD. Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark (OMD) continue their 40th anniversary celebrations with an exhibition marking the band’s impressive legacy at the British Music Experience. Items on display include the bands’ instruments, stage outfits, prints, posters and Andy McCluskey’s binders full of ideas, photos and press cuttings. To complement the exhibits, there will be a short film featuring live footage of the band on the main stage screen at regular intervals throughout the day. The exhibition runs until January 5 2020.

CINDERELLA (Panto)

Audiences are guaranteed to have a ball this Christmas as Epstein Entertainments bring the enchanting tale of Cinderella to the stage from Fri 6 Dec ’19 – Sun 5 Jan ‘20. Their debut Christmas panto at The Epstein Theatre promises to be a festive extravaganza with enchanted pumpkins, glass slippers, a sparkling fairy-tale carriage and a Fairy Godmother to make all your dreams come true. The greatest rags to riches panto of them all, Cinderella tells the story of a beautiful girl who is reduced to a life of servitude by her two ugly step-sisters. That is all set to change when an invitation to a grand ball at the palace arrives. With a bit of magic and some help from her friend Buttons, Cinderella is transformed in to the belle of the ball. But what will happen at the stroke of midnight? Emmerdale’s Sammy Winward leads the cast in the title role of Cinderella whilst award-winning actor and comedian, Benidorm’s Crissy Rock; and Brookside’s Sarah White double up as the Ugly Sisters. They will be joined by Shameless’ Warren Donnelly; Andrew Geater; Samantha Palin; and Lewis Devine who complete this year’s cast. SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARFS

Heigh-ho! It’s off to panto we go! The Epstein Theatre is hosting a classic fairytale as Snow White and her Seven Dwarfs attempts to thwart the control of the evil step mother and find their happily ever after. Catch the Queen of Clean Kim Woodburn (of How Clean is Your House? fame), Radio City 2’s Claire Simmon and everyone’s favourite dame, Michael Chapman in one of many Liverpool Christmas pantomimes happening across the season.
