Reaction to the websites page access and hits statistics from 2004 to 2007.

2007 is the latest full year of statistics that we have available for you to view.   Despite a large system failure in 2007*, overall we can say that the most read months on Southport Reporter have been, yet again, May and November.  This is consistent throughout the figures taken from 2005, 2006 and the end off 2004.   We have identified this trend, down to coverage of events like the Southport Weekender and other public events.     This focus on large public events helping boost exposure and can be seen again via the figures, when reviewing the months against event coverage.  This trend is also depicted when looking at the figures from February March and April, when a clear drop can be seen.  This can be noted as a result of each edition having less pages in them, producing a marked reduction in page to be viewed.   With Capital of Culture in 2008, this interest in events, that our readers clearly have and the fact more pages can be produced from event coverage will boost our advertisers exposure.   For that reason in 2008, we have decided that we will be focusing more on event coverage than in other years.
