DOUBLE FANTASY (Exhibition)

Double Fantasy - John & Yoko, at Museum of Liverpool from 18 May 2018 to 22 April 2019, is a free exhibition, celebrating the meeting of two of the world’s most creative artists who expressed their deep and powerful love for one another through their art, music and film. They used their fame and influence to campaign for peace and human rights across the world, transforming not only their own lives, but art, music and activism forever. Featuring personal objects alongside art, music and film produced by John and Yoko, the exhibition is drawn from Yoko’s own private collection, some of which has never been displayed. September’s Smash the Keys is a 10-day music festival that puts a single instrument centre stage in a celebration that is more than just classical. Instead, music fans can expect to hear all forms and genres, from jazz to grime, hip hop to swing – played by some of the biggest names in music. The season will involve mass performance moments, new commissions, schools’ programmes and exhibitions.

The Provincial Grand Orange Lodge of Liverpool (Exhibition)

This new community display at the Museum of Liverpool explores the history of the Orange Lodge in Liverpool. Featuring a range of objects, photographs and interviews, the display offers personal perspectives alongside an interesting look at the Orange Lodge’s roots and ongoing presence in the city. The display is part of the Museum of Liverpool's Our City, Our Stories programme, a partnership programme which enables local people to represent their own interpretation of the museum’s themes and objects. BRITISH MUSICAL FIREWORKS CHAMPIONSHIP

The British Musical Fireworks Championship is the only competition of its kind in the UK. It's no ordinary firework display; over three nights spectators will see some of the best pyrotechnic companies battle it out to be the winner and this year will be the Champion of Champions.
